Graduate Profile: Adam Braden (DTS)
My name is Adam Braden, and I live in a small town in East Tennessee just north of Knoxville. I have been married to my wife Katie since 2014 and we have two children, Hazel (4) and Judson (1). We are blessed to attend First Baptist Church in Powell, TN where I serve as a deacon. Having been raised squarely within the "Bible Belt," I have attended church since before I was born, but Christianity had always been a cultural thing to me. I had never really been exposed to the concept of the Gospel as a transforming, powerful manifestation of the power of God in my life. When I was 18, I heard the Gospel for the first time, and I was changed forever. For the first time in my life I realized the truth of my rebellion against a holy God and his willingness to forgive and save me. Shortly after that, I was exposed to the doctrines of grace, and my hunger for knowledge about God has only grown. I spent many years learning from any sources that I could find, and by God's grace, I was exposed to many theologically sound teachings to help guide me. However, a few years ago, I began to search out a more formal education. Most seminaries were not an option for me since I do not have a Bachelor's degree and I am not able to relocate my family for school. When, in God's providence, I discovered Reformed Baptist Seminary, I knew that the marrow program fulfilled every desire that I had for seminary education. I have enjoyed every class, particularly apologetics and ethics, and have been consistently challenged (especially with Greek!). Most importantly, I have been exposed to the deep, rich history of the Christian faith in a way that I might otherwise not have been. I am so grateful to have been blessed with the opportunity to take classes through this seminary and sincerely hope to take more classes in the future. RBS is providing an immeasurable service to the kingdom of God by offering what they offer and I highly recommend it to anyone who seeks a formal theological education. To God alone be the glory!
