Join us May 10–15, 2027, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coconut Creek, Florida, for an intensive hermeneutics module taught by Dr. Mark Ward Jr.
This course will equip students to interpret Scripture carefully and faithfully by exploring both the principles and practice of biblical interpretation. Students will consider the Bible’s unified story, the interpretation of major literary genres, the history of interpretation, and the relationship of biblical and systematic theology to exegesis.
The module will also address practical issues such as textual criticism, semantics and pragmatics, exegetical fallacies, word studies, and approaches to Bible translation. The course concludes with hands-on application in studying and teaching Scripture, including the use of technology and the movement from explanation to illustration, application, and exhortation.
Whether you are a pastor, teacher, seminary student, or serious student of the Bible, this module will provide a thoughtful and practical framework for understanding what Scripture means and communicating it faithfully.
