Regular Online Programs

RBS offers students fully online theological education at three different levels: diploma, undergraduate, and graduate. The 97-credit Divinity Program provides robust and comprehensive training for pastors and those aspiring to pastoral ministry. The 60-credit Scholar’s Program features more focused and specialized training in Biblical Studies or Systematic Theology. The 34-credit Marrow Program offers the student an entry-level program. Finally, those looking for the most streamlined and affordable option may want to consider the 24-credit Certificate in Reformed Baptist Studies, focused on the exposition of the 1689 London Baptist Confession.

Classical Studies Residential Program

(Florida)

The residential Master of Divinity program with a concentration in classical studies is a unique course of study, designed specifically for men who are training for Christian ministry. The curriculum consists of 81 credit hours of traditional MDiv courses and 18 credit hours of classical studies. Rooted in the Great Tradition of the Western World, the classical studies curriculum utilizes the Socratic method to discuss texts from the Great Books of the Western Tradition to facilitate intellectual and spiritual engagement from students.

Biblical Counseling Program

The 63-credit Biblical Counseling program is designed to offer men and women a Reformed and Baptist education that includes training and certification in biblical counseling. In addition to courses taken with RBS, the student will complete counseling courses with the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) and certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).

PRTS Transfer Program

The PRTS Transfer Program is a special program that RBS students apply to at the beginning of their studies. Students must apply to and be accepted at both RBS and Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in order to enter this program. This program allows RBS students to earn an accredited M.A. or M.Div. through PRTS. RBS students accepted into the program complete up to 20 credits at RBS, which they transfer to PRTS. The student may, but does not have to complete a degree at RBS before transferring to PRTS. The student in this program will go on to complete either a MA or MDiv at PRTS. PRTS is an excellent school, accredited by both ARTS and ATS, and thus students who desire to continue their education after RBS are especially encouraged to consider this unique partnership. All questions related to PRTS programs should be directed to PRTS.

Learning Format

Pursuing a theological education while holding a job and caring for a family can be challenging. In order to accommodate students who are managing various responsibilities, RBS courses are offered in a fully online format. Most courses include audio (or video) lectures that may be accessed and downloaded from RBS's online campus. The student will also find the course syllabus, required textbooks, assignments, grading scales, and other course information in the Populi online campus. The student may work these courses into his own schedule under the oversight of the seminary dean and his own pastor(s).

Some courses are also offered in a concentrated live modular format at different times during the year and at various locations in the United States. These live modules usually last five to seven days and provide the student with opportunities to interact with the course instructor and fellow students. Lectures from live modules are recorded, edited, and uploaded to RBS's online campus for the benefit of all students.
