Graduate Profile: Scott Stake, MTS

My name is Scott Stake, and I live in Tallahassee (Go Seminoles!) with my wife and 4 children. Because of God’s incredible grace, I am a child of God and a minister of the gospel at Four Oaks Community Church, where I provide direction and care to our community groups, redemption groups, deacon team, men's ministry, and overseas missionaries.

I am really grateful for my studies through Reformed Baptist Seminary for several reasons. First, I absolutely loved the instruction from experienced pastors who could not only teach the Scriptures, but who also humbly and wisely shared their wealth of ministry experience with us. I could feel their pastor heart for not only their own church but also for me!

Second, I’m thankful for the rigorous learning that RBS studies provided. In addition to the lectures from pastors, the reading, tests, and writing assignments gave me a deeper understanding of God, His Word, the gospel, the church, Christian history, biblical counseling…really everything! Plus, I was able to cater my papers and projects to some of the personal and practical ministry I was currently interested or involved in. And the extensive reading lists forced me to study certain theological works I probably wouldn’t have read on my own but that greatly ministered to my mind and heart.

Finally, I appreciated the opportunity to take almost all of my classes online. This flexibility enabled me to complete my coursework from a wonderful institution while not having to uproot my family and leave the local church that I’ve been called to love and serve.

So, thank you to RBS! It’s been a wonderful experience!
