Marriage and Family Counseling – Module Recap
/As we are eager to reopen our Biblical Counseling program, there are four courses that are still needed to supplement the current offering. Last week, we completed one of these. The Marriage Counseling module with Dr. Jim Newheiser was held at Grace Baptist Church (Taylors, SC). As never before in Western society, there is much confusion on what God-honoring marriages should look like. Dr. Newheiser took many of the issues around marriage head on, covering topics starting with the definition of marriage, all the way to parenting adult children and dealing with finances. Applying biblical principles, care was taken to present a balanced view on each topic, while giving room for differences of approach on more delicate points of application. Joining Dr. Newheiser, his wife Caroline spoke on counseling children and helping the “lonely wife.”
