Graduate Profile: Brandon Woolard
/“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
—1 Corinthians 15:58
My name is Brandon Woolard. I reside in Puxico, MO with my beautiful wife, Ashley, and our four wonderful children. We worship with our faith family at First Baptist Church of Puxico where I serve as an elder and provide direction for our church’s small group ministry. I am a native of Southeast Missouri. In addition to serving as an elder, I work in banking and have a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness.
I am eternally grateful that the Lord, in His kindness, has formed a connection between my home church and Reformed Baptist Seminary. I am especially thankful that His graciousness has been extended to me in allowing me to complete my MA in Biblical Studies through this institution.
I grew up in church in a moralistic but theologically deprived area. I made a public profession of faith early in life, but how I lived did not always reflect that profession, especially during my late high school and early college years. The Lord in His grace eventually led me to FBC Puxico where I was initially introduced to the Doctrines of Grace and Reformed thought. I gained a deeper understanding of and conviction over my sin. I also began to see for the first time the cohesiveness and unity of Scripture, its doctrines, and its practical application in all of life. The Father has since placed an insatiable hunger inside of me to grow in love for, knowledge of, and obedience to His Son, Christ Jesus who is my Lord and Savior.
My enrollment into RBS is one outworking of that hunger. The quality of teaching, rigorous standards, and dedication to local churches is second to none and makes RBS a thoroughly unique, impactful learning institution. The professors are experienced gospel ministers who are both able to teach and provide a treasure of practical ministry advice. My sincere prayer is that the Lord will continue using these godly men, RBS, and FBC Puxico to equip saints all over the world for the work of ministry. I also pray He will continue advancing His Kingdom through the faithful preaching and teaching of His Word in my area and that my kinsmen in the flesh whom I love may come to adopt and to love the Doctrines of Grace in this theological wasteland we call home.
I am thankful to God for the partnership and opportunities He has granted me and FBC Puxico as a partner church with RBS. I am thankful for my wife who has been my pillar of support throughout my studies and ministry. I am also grateful for the RBS staff; especially Dr. Gonzales and Bro. Mark Chanski who have been faithful advisors and friends to me and my pastor, Dr. Justin Miller. Finally, I owe a debt of gratitude to my faith family at FBC Puxico who have provided blessed support through prayer, exhortation, and encouragement.
I cannot commend RBS enough for the impact it has made in my life and in the life of our local church.
