Graduate Profile: Dan Loggans, Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.)
/I praise God for his mercy and grace towards me in Christ. His kindness has been evident in my life since birth. Born into a pastor’s home, I can’t remember a time when I was not aware of God and His glory revealed in Christ. Through the faithful teaching and preaching of the gospel, God drew me to Himself at a young age and I turned in faith toward Him and in repentance away from my own righteousness and my sin. What grace to know that in my “hell-bound race” God pursued me even as a child!
I graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 2004 and was married later that summer to my beautiful wife, Maegan. Through these events, as well as some significant discipleship relationships, I began consuming solid theological and gospel-centered resources in any way I could. God was showing His kindness again to me in growing me in my pursuit of Him. During this season of life I became a Youth & Family Ministries Pastor in south-central WI. After serving the church in this role for 2 years, God moved us on and in 2010 we joined with several families to plant Christ Fellowship Church in Sun Prairie, WI, where I served as an elder for 2 years. Right after we moved to Sun Prairie, God graciously gave us two precious gifts, our twin girls: Karis & Khloe. (We have a son, Haddon, on the way in July of this year)
It was also during this time that I was introduced to RBS and began taking classes. In the fall of 2012 God lead us to Fuquay-Varina, NC for an internship at Redeemer Community Church. God had been working in my heart and stirring up a desire to preach the Word more effectively, so this move to NC allowed me to devote more time and effort in completing my M.T.S. degree through RBS. I found each of the classes I have taken at RBS to be not only theologically solid and enriching, but I have also found them to be spiritually nourishing. I have found myself on several occasions in the middle of a reading assignment or while listening to a lecture needing to stop and thank God for His grace in Christ. While we do not know fully what the future has in store for us, we do know that God in His sovereignty will have us where He so desires, so we would have it no other way!
