Graduate Profile: Jason Hoy, Master of Theological Studies

I was raised in Beaver Springs, PA where I attended an evangelistic, Biblically-based church, but wasn’t truly born-again until later. It wasn’t until my senior year in college that the Lord began drawing me unto Himself. After graduation, I moved to Kutztown, PA where I met my wife, Jennifer. Shortly after Jennifer’s witness to me, the Lord saved me and radically changed my life. I served in various roles at Calvary Baptist Church in Allentown, PA for several years before attending Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church in Bethlehem, PA. A few years after attending, the church called me as their Pastor of Congregational Care in 2006 and I served in that role along with being an interim senior pastor until 2013. In January of 2014, I was been blessed to assume the role of Senior Pastor at the Bible Fellowship Church of Ephrata in Ephrata, PA. I also serve the Bible Fellowship Church denomination on the Church Health Committee, which I enjoy very much.    

I have a passion to make much of Christ through expositional preaching and teaching of God’s Word and to be faithful in fulfilling the purpose of the church: Worshipping God, Edifying the believer, and Evangelizing the lost. May God help me accomplish this goal for the sake of His Name.

I am thankful for my studies at Reformed Baptist Seminary. I praise God that solid, gospel-centered, and biblically saturated institutions still exist during our day of pragmatic Christianity that is method driven and full of loose theology rather than being faithful to the message that we are to guard, protect, and fervently pass along (Jude 3) for the sake of the believer’s edification and the salvation of sinners. Praise God that RBS is committed to the Word of the Lord and the Lord of the Word. If our Lord is willing, I would like to continue my education at RBS in the future, hoping to complete an M.Div. degree.  

I am deeply thankful for my family’s devotion to Christ and their patience while I minister and study. My wife Jennifer and I enjoy our four daughters: Hannah, Rachel, Sarah, and Lydia.
