Graduate Profile: Tyson Tolbert (MATS)

My name is Tyson Tolbert and I’m the lead pastor at Faith Community Bible Church in Atwater CA. I’m a native to California and have spent most of life in the Central Valley. I grew up in a Christian home and believed on Christ at a young age. However, during my high school years, I lived with little conviction. The Lord was patient and gracious with me, and not long after high school, I received a call to ministry during a Sunday night worship service. I immediately changed my plans and began attending Bethany Bible College. I completed a B.A. in Church Leadership, and while there, met my beautiful wife Kim. Kim and I are enjoying over 25 years of marriage and together God has blessed us with three sons, Noah, Levi, and Asher.

In 2002 I began my start in full-time ministry as a youth pastor in Oklahoma. Through the years, I have had the honor of serving the church in different pastoral positions and locations. I have also been blessed to receive and continue my education through Reformed Baptist Seminary. I cannot say I’m thankful enough for the dedication and devotion of all the staff and teachers at RBS. I have benefited from their conviction to see God’s church strengthened through solid biblical teaching. The Lord is good, and he has truly extended his grace and favor to my family and me.

Ministry has many different facets and challenges, but God is always good. By God’s grace, I have a strong desire to see Christ’s church grow in holiness and devotion to God’s Word. The call to every disciple is to love God first and foremost, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. God’s glory compels us to serve the Lord without fear. The believer who understands the privilege of salvation and humanity’s need for Jesus will do great service for the Kingdom.

May God continue to bless the efforts of RBS and the students who graduate to fulfill their call to ministry.
