The Chief End of Our Salvation: God's Glory

The Westminster Shorter Catechism is best known for its opening question: “What is the chief end of man?”  To which the following reply is offered: “Man’s chief end is to glorify and enjoy God forever.” Hardly a more comprehensive and biblical answer could be imagined. This “ultimate question” is so comprehensive that it may accurately be applied to God himself with the same result: “What is the chief end of God?” Answer: “God’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.”That is to say, everything God does in the world—especially His work of salvation—He does to further His own glory and enjoyment in the world.

Church History Module in Bogotá

We would like to thank God for the completion of another theological module in Bogotá, Colombia as part of RBS's Marrow of Theology program. This fall Pastor Guillermo Gómez of lectured on the history of the church. We're happy to report that the Lord supplied the needed grace to Pastor Gómez and used the lectures to give the students a better grasp on Christ's activity in building his church. It was truly a time of instruction and praise for God's faithfulness to his people through the ages.
