Dr Robert Martin on the Book of Hebrews

On the week of September 29 - October 3, Grace Baptist Church of Taylors will host RBS's seminar on the Book of Hebrews. Pastor Robert Martin (PhD) will provide an exegetical and biblical-theological survey of the epistle with emphasis not only on its major themes and difficult passages but also on the rabbinical method of exposition used by the author. The grand theme, of course, is the supremacy of Christ in the saving work of God. Melchizedek and much, much more! For more information click here.

The Real Story at Mount Sinai

Last night one of our seminary students, Oskar Arocha, gave a overview of his master’s thesis, “The Real Story at Mount Sinai: An Exegetical Interpretation of the Narrative of Exodus 19–24,” in Spanish (“La verdadera historia en el Monte Sinaí”). Oskar wrote this thesis to complete his requirements for the Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree. The objective of his study is to highlight the unbelief and disobedience of Israel at the foot of Sinai. Rather than assuming the role of a “kingdom of priests” by means of an obedient faith, Israel becomes a “kingdom with priests” on account of their disobedience. If you know a little Spanish, I’d like to invite you to watch the video presentation below.

The Theology of John Calvin: Free Lectures

If Martin Luther was the catalyst of the Protestant Reformation, John Calvin was its consolidator. Calvin was both a commentator and also a systematic theologian. J. I. Packer has rightly appraised Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion (1536-1559) as "one of the wonders of the spiritual world--the world of doxology and devotion, of discipleship and discipline, of Word-through-Spirit illumination and transformation of individuals, of the Christ-centered mind and the Christ-honoring heart." In the thirteen lectures below, historical theologian and pastor Mark Sarver, provides a sketch of Calvin's life and labors as well as a survey of some of Calvin's greatest theological contributions
