Graduate Profile: Wesley Tyler, M.Div.
/My name is Wesley Tyler and I am a graduate of Reformed Baptist Seminary. I was not raised in a Christian home, and my father died before I became a teenager. My mother raised my two sisters and I by herself. Although I was outwardly a decent person in the eyes of men, I was lost in the sight of God. The Lord saved me from my rebellion in January of 2004, when I was in my late 20’s. I was converted and forever changed. I was blind yet he gave me sight. Shortly after my conversion, I completed my master’s degree in social work at University of Central Florida. I am married to my wonderful, supportive wife Lyndsay and we have one son.
I have diverse ministry experience. For the last seven years, I have had the opportunity to gain more experience in preaching Sunday messages, Sunday school, and numerous theological topical series. Furthermore, I was able to be instrumental in local evangelism events and lead evangelism training. In 2012 I received my certification from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (formerly NANC). Thankfully, I have been blessed to use that training, along with my seminary studies, to provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families. The topic of my master’s thesis was on the benefits of biblical counseling. My desire now is to pastor a church in the southeastern United States.
Reformed Baptist Seminary provided me with the training needed to deepen my walk with Christ and assist me to better serve his church. I found that my theological positions were deepened and my love for Jesus Christ grew. In my studies at RBS, I was able to obtain my Master of Theological Studies and my Master of Divinity. The curriculum was rigorous and thorough. Yet, the schedule was flexible. I found the professors to be available and gracious. Furthermore, the face to face teaching modules (recommended but not mandatory) provided face to face interaction that was both encouraging and irreplaceable. I highly recommend, without reservation, Reformed Baptist Seminary to all students of the Scriptures.
