Candidate for Accreditation!

We are excited to share some encouraging news about RBS’s progress toward accreditation! This past May, RBS submitted the second draft of our institutional self-study to the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS). After a careful review, ARTS’s Committee on Accreditation (COA) approved our self-study and advanced RBS from applicant status to official “candidate” status. This represents an important milestone in the accreditation process and brings us one significant step closer to our goal.

The next major step will be an on-site evaluation in Florida in early 2027. Following the visit, the evaluation team will prepare its report, and RBS will have an opportunity to respond to any notations or requests for additional evidence. The site visit team will then make its recommendation to the Committee on Accreditation. If everything continues to move forward as anticipated, we hope to complete the process and achieve accreditation by late spring or early summer of 2027.

We are grateful for how much this process has already helped us as an institution. Accreditation is not simply about receiving a recognized status. The rigorous process of self-evaluation has encouraged us to take a careful look at every aspect of RBS and identify ways we can strengthen our programs and better serve our students. In the long run, we also believe accreditation will open additional doors of opportunity for our graduates as they pursue ministry, further education, and other avenues of service.
