Graduate Profile: Alexander Wade

I am grateful for God’s providence in guiding me to complete my Master of Historical Theology at Reformed Baptist Seminary. The seminary’s church-based approach ensured my studies were deeply rooted in practical ministry. I’m not sure how many more years this would have taken without the mentorship of my fellow Elder Steve Mittwide. Through the support of my church and professors, I’ve been equipped to minister effectively while remaining anchored in my local congregation.
Originally from Waterbury, Connecticut, I grew up in the Tacoma, Washington area. In 2005, during my time at Northwestern College in Minnesota, God transformed my heart. Once indifferent to Jesus and Scripture, I developed an insatiable appetite for God’s Word, marking the beginning of my journey as a truly regenerate Christian. This fresh passion redirected my life toward serving Christ and His church. My wife, Alyssa, and I, married for 14 years, have been blessed with four children—Harrison, Sampson, Penelope, and Canaan—who are a constant joy and reminder of God’s grace. Together, we’ve sought to build a home centered on Christ and His gospel.
I’ve got long term goals to teach and write about the history of Christianity in Africa so I enrolled at Reformed Baptist Seminary, where the Historical Theology program equipped me for these future aspirations while keeping me present with family, work, and church responsibilities. At Worthy Redeemer Church in Huntsville, Alabama, where I now live and serve, I’ve had the privilege of planting and pastoring alongside Pastor Brian Metz. We were sent with the blessing and support of Summit Crossing Community church in Madison AL in 2021. Since then, Worthy Redeemer has provided countless opportunities to shepherd, grounding my theological training in the daily joys and challenges of church life. The congregation at Worthy Redeemer has been a spiritual home for my family, nourishing us through Christ-exalting worship and rich community.
Looking ahead, I am eager to continue my education, trusting God to open doors for further theological study, possibly at the doctoral level, to deepen my understanding of historical theology and its application to the church today. My heart is set on maximizing my usefulness in pastoral ministry, equipping believers to know and love Christ more deeply. I am thankful for the mentors and professors at Reformed Baptist Seminary who have invested in me through their teaching, writing, and encouragement. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my ministry.
My family and I are committed to serving Christ’s church in Huntsville and beyond, grounded in the gospel and sustained by God’s grace. Whether through pastoring, teaching, or further studies, I pray to remain faithful to the call to “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season” (2 Tim 4:2).
