Graduate Profile: Chad Hutson

My name is Chad Hutson and I am held in God’s grace. After several years of study, I am thankful for the opportunities afforded me by RBS and the depth of knowledge I attained. I strive to follow the exhortation of the writer of Hebrews when he says, “Let us run the race with patience that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Heb 12:1–2). The “race” with RBS has required much endurance, but upon reflection, it was worth every effort.

After spending 26 years in bi-vocational ministry while also operating a group of funeral businesses, God providentially opened the door to a full-time ministry opportunity at Cornerstone Bible Church in Middlefield, OH. My wife, Michelle, and I left our longtime home and relocated to beautiful Northeast Ohio in June 2023. While leaving our former church members was difficult, God blessed us with an equally loving and gracious congregation of committed Christians. We owe everything to our Great God, who always provides what we need for his glory.

I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Gonzales for his guidance and encouragement during the years and to my advisor, Dr. Michael Reese, who encouraged me to complete the MDiv. The convenience of the online format, the curriculum, and the depth of study provided me with opportunities and benefits too numerous to convey. I am eternally grateful to RBS and its staff for their support and hard work for those who need flexibility without compromising quality. While I appreciate all the instructors, I am especially thankful for Greg Nichols, Michael Haykin, Brian Borgman, and John Reuther (the best instruction I have ever received about the Holy Spirit!). While at RBS, I found every subject and instructor to offer the highest benefit for my soul.

For those still studying or considering it, I offer the following words of advice: Run! Persevere! Contend! Fight! Wrestle! All are biblical words to describe our walks of faith; thus, they are fitting for our educational journeys. In the end, the rewards will far outweigh the present difficulties.

May Christ be all!
