Graduate Profile: Ryan Gromlovits

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? (1 Corinthians 4:7)

I thank God for giving his unprofitable servant an increasing knowledge of himself through his word at Reformed Baptist Seminary. I thank God for his grace to complete an MTS degree at RBS. It has been a privilege to continue serving in my local church throughout my studies at RBS. The seminary’s church-based approach allowed me to continue serving in the church and apply what I was learning simultaneously.

I am originally from South Carolina and was raised with a Southern Baptist upbringing. However, I was not converted until late into my twenties. God has given a great hunger for himself and his word. The first church I joined introduced me to some helpful teachers like John MacArthur and Charles Spurgeon. In time, by God’s grace, I learned the doctrines of grace beginning with election. Not long after, I became of member of a church which held to the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith 1689 (1689). It was here that my theology grew to be distinctively reformed and that I entered RBS. With this degree, I plan to continue teaching and preaching in the church as opportunity arises and pursue the pastoral office.

I thank Pastor Marc Brashear, Pastor Dale Gardner, Pastor Mark Mudge, Pastor Jerome Bradley, and our local church for their respective labors of love toward me throughout my studies. Through prayer, counsel, encouragement, and opportunities to serve, I have received grace upon grace from the Lord. I also want to thank Dr. Robert Gonzales for his teaching and his pastoral-like love in helping me finish my degree. Last, I am thankful to all my professors at RBS who have further equipped me for the work of the ministry through their respective classes and lessons.
