Graduate Profile: Benjamin Palmer
/Born in Germany as part of a military family, my younger days were spent moving around various military bases. My mother tried to raise us in the Anglican Church (Episcopal state-side). But I never heard the gospel until I was 27 years old, when my soon-to-be wife invited me to her Baptist church. I was converted and baptized in 2006.
In 2013 I became a bi-vocational pastor. That service ended (not by my choice) when I came to Reformed convictions and began preaching the doctrines of grace and Calvinistic theology. My wife and two kids by this time landed in an SBC church, but I was soon called to preach again at another Baptist church in our association. That ministry lasted until Spring of 2024. We are now very blessed to be at a church close to home with solid biblical preaching and a body of elders who are all sound in doctrine. The church is growing and we are enjoying a season of rest and being nourished as I finish my degree. I am looking forward to teaching Sunday School classes. I also look forward to serving in whatever capacity Christ our King has appointed for me.
The sound biblical knowledge and comprehensive theological training I have received through RBS is invaluable to me and the church already. I know I will be using this degree and even continuing to audit classes as I plan on retiring from public school teaching and continue to pursue ministry in the coming years. Thank you to all of the instructors and facilitators for offering and organizing such excellent training!
